S27: Wrap Up: Ring the Bells
So now we have come to the end of the 27th season of The Big League… The guns are silent and the battlefield is cold and dead… and whether you’re victoriously surrounding the beaches at Dunkirk or the last to climb aboard a chopper above the streets of Saigon, this battle is done… but it is not over. It shall continue another day. We shall rise again! It shall continue with Season 28… and you must be part of it. Avenge the fallen. Secure your position. Take back the ground that was taken from you! We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills… Climb the ladder! Ring the bells! You’re not dead yet!
Congratulations to Tre O'Rourke and his World Eaters for winning the League! Against my dusty predictions, he broke the spell Stone Freedom(Rock) cast on the top spot a few weeks ago! Rock Liberty took the second spot with his Thousand Sons and Victor Campos came in third with his Dark Angels. All three had some time atop the spire this season and it was great to see the epic struggle conclude. Neil Braden’s Space Wolves made their lair atop Pod 2 with four solid wins. Congratulations buddy~ chalk one up for the Warmongers! Hans Lieber’s Death Guard and Jeremy Larson’s Astra Militarum will join Neil as they advance to Pod 1 next season. They’ll be joined by Coop Guice’s Blood Angels as he has handedly won Pod 3 with 5 wins (and winning Pod 3 lets you skip Pod 2). Tony Baumayr’s Astra Militarum and Ouhyon Lee’s Blood Angels, who came in second and third respectively, will be advancing to Pod 2. Congratulations to all.
James McCarthy’s Astra Militarum blasted their way to the top of Pod 4 with a 3-2 record. Jean Evora’s T'au and Joe Bravo’s Salamanders hold the balance of the green zone and will advance next season. Good news boys and congratulations. After the ringers have been tabulated, Alvin Collins’ Necrons were able to materialize atop Pod 5 with five wins. Miles Vollenweider’s Drukhari and Tri Le’s T'au round out the green zone and will advance next season. Congratulations lads for a battle well fought! Kory Marlatt’s Adeptus Astartes planted their standard at the Top of Pod 6 with a 4-1 record. Michael Pogrebinsky’s T'au weren’t that far behind (30 points, in fact) with Evan Burnsworth’s Tyranids and Michael Ernst’s Blood Angels all advancing up the ladder next season. Congratulations to you guys~ Pod 6 was pretty bloody this season!
This season saw some of the fiercest battles over the pods with three out of six pods getting more than 90% of their games played. Pod 1 hit 100% completion! So great to see everyone getting their games done!
Don’t forget to sign up for Season 28, (https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/sd-gamers/san-diego-big-league-start-11-24) we’re starting next week. It’s a great way to get in your reps for Las Vegas and SoCal Teams. And remember, no marine is an island, Entire of himself. Each is a piece of the company, A part of the main. If a Terminator is blown away by the scatter laser, the Chapter is the less. As well as if a Predator were. As well as if a battleship of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee.
