S30: Week 8: There’s no discharge in the war
A slow march back from the front lines. Soldiers weary… Long lines of the broken and bandaged…. Foot—slog—slog—sloggin' over Cadia. Half of your buddies dead, half carried off to the pits or consumed by the nameless. Boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up and down again. Though we think it’s the end of the league, there’s no discharge in the war. Season 31 follows hard and with it a new Chapter Approved rule set. Count—count—count—count—the bullets in the bandoliers. Sign up for season 31 now…. We pause for a week…. Oh—my—God—keep—me from goin' lunatic! There’s no discharge in the war!
In Pod 1 we congratulate Matt Geyer’s Chaos Demons for edging out Jeremy Larson’s Astra Militarum and David Susko’s Adeptus Mechanicus, and taking the top spot. His 4-1 record and the 95% completion rate in the Pod, kept it very interesting. In Pod 2, Juan Diego Vasquez’ Imperial Knights stomped their way to first place with a 4-1 record. He will ascend to Pod 1 next season. Once the ringers have been tabulated he’ll be joined by Juan Jaquez’ Astra Militarum and (Stone Freedom) Rock Liberty’s Chaos Demons. Congratulations Juan and good luck with your new book.
Pod 3 had a clean completion with 100% of games played and no ringers which means everyone played their scheduled matches. This is awesome. Tony Baumayr’s Astra Militarum marched- marched- marched- marched- to the top of the Pod. Congratulations! Patrick Bracken’s Genestealer Cult came in second and Greg Kellen’s Orks filled out the green zone (literally) in third place. Soren Jorgenson’s Imperial Knights loom over Pod 4 with a 3-2 record. Congratulations Soren and good luck in Pod 2. Benbo’s Drukhari and Coop Guice's Tyranids took the second and third spots, respectively.
AJ Mody’s Necrons emerged at the top of Pod 5 with a 4-1 record after ringers are tabulated. Sean Koch’s T'au, Jan Pferdekamper’s Adepta Sororitas, and Sean Bejarano’s Dark Angels rounded out the large green Zone in this Pod and will move up the ladder. Great showing for AJ in a bloody and frustrating Pod. Tri Le’s T'au took the top of Pod 6 with four wins and no losses. He’s the only Pod winner in the league without a loss. Keith Nyberg’s Chaos Demons and Nicholas Treuheit’s Ultramarines fill out the Green Zone and will move up next season. Congratulations Tri for winning and not getting any blood on your hands.
Joshuah Singson’s Death Guard captured the top of Pod 7 with a 4-1 record. Devin Pamintuan’s T'au, Noah Whitehead’s Adeptus Custodes and Eric Halverson’s Adepta Sororitas rounded out the Green Zone and will advance up the ladder. Congratulations Joshuah. With a new book, next season looks bright indeed (in a phosphorescence kind of way).
I like to check in with our meta at the end of our league by tallying up the winningest factions. It’s interesting to look at the total number of wins in the Pod (as a measure of both how many people are taking the faction and how much they win) and also wins per player (which factors out the number of players choosing the faction). At the top of the podium we have Tau and Imperial Guard with 13 wins each. These wins are contributed by four players (giving a win rate of 3.25). Chaos Demons come in second with 12 wins contributed by four players (with a rate of 3). Imperials Knights contributed 9 wins from four players coming in third (and with a win rate of 2.25). Deathguard deserve an honorable mention in fourth, as they won eight games but with only three players they actually had a higher win rate than Deathguard at 2.67.
Thanks to all for such a great league with a strong level of participation. Our completion rate in this league was 85.71% with several pods completing 100%. Congratulations to the Pod winners. I will be posting the purity seals soon and will tag folks for prize support once I get with the store. Sign up for Season 31~ Space Wolf Hats for Everyone now. And remember, if your eyes drop they will get atop o' you! Boots- boots- boots- boots- movin' up and down again. There's no discharge in the war!
