Tzeentch has taught us that things change.
Tzeentch has taught us that things change. Things always change. There are a lot of changes going on at our home store, AT EASE Games, and I want to bring you all up to speed with them. The team at AEG have put a lot of money into the new store and it shows. Lots of space, awesome terrain, and unique rooms are all features of the new space. On some level, I think we’ve probably always known that using the space for free isn’t something that will continue. Starting on April 5th, the store will deploy a two tiered payment system for use of their facility. I liken it to a gym; you can either pay per use ($10 per player) or pay a monthly membership option ($25 per month).
The membership, through Patreon, will come with a whole bunch of benefits. First, you’ll be able to use the tables as often as you like and you’ll be able to reserve tables. There won’t be any reservations for walk ups. Second, you’ll get first dibs on GW pre-orders. Third, you’ll get discounts on use of the unique rooms. Fourth, and most important for us, you'll be able to participate in any league for free. In fact, you’ll have to be a member to participate in the league. That means you pay your monthly fee and you can play as often as you like and participate in as many leagues as you like~ The Big League? Yes. Narrative League? Yes. Kill Team? Yes. All for one monthly fee.
Beyond the way we pay for participation, the Big League will not change much. Prize support levels will remain the same. We’re bringing back the Purity Seals (thanks @Stephen). We’ll still be hosting the Spring and Fall Finals tournaments. We’ll still be hosting the SoCal League Champs. Your league registration (that you just paid) to be in Season 30 will be counted as the first month of your subscription to the store membership. If you’d like to continue into May (Season 30 goes to May 26), you’ll have to sign up as a member through the store Patreon. I suggest you sign up at the end of April so your membership matches a monthly cycle. I know this is a change~ but what have we learned from Tzeentch? If this change doesn’t suit you and you’d like a refund of your league fee, please let us know this weekend. Coop Guice is planning on doing the League pairings on Monday night on FB. If you’d like to drop, please let us know before then.
I encourage you to continue to participate in our league. We’ve built a great community and, personally, I think the membership is great value for money. I play Necromunda and at least one 40k game a week. That’s less than three dollars a game. What other leisure activity can you pay three dollars for and get hours of enjoyment with such a crew of fine fellows?
If you have questions, please reach out and I’ll do my best to answer them, but remember, if Chaos is change itself, then Tzeentch, more than any other Dark Power, embodies Chaos in its purest, most primal form.
